Two out of three jobs in the future will require a higher level of skills and better qualifications.

Over the next five years it is expected that there will be more jobs for:   

• Managers
• People with professional qualifications e.g. lawyers, accountants
• People with technical skills that are used for making things e.g. skilled engineers
• Workers who offer personal or protective services to other people
• Sales and customer service staff.

Fewer jobs for unskilled workers e.g. People who operate machines, assemblers and packers

But there will still be vacancies for this kind of work, to replace people who leave the workforce.
