The Serious Games Institute is based at Coventry University Technology Park. It is a £3 million project that includes facilities to support the development of Serious Games research and companies based in the West Midlands.

Serious games involve the use of electronic games technologies and methodologies for things other than entertainment, such as:

• e-Learning
• Simulation
• Team building
• Social networking

The Serious Games Institute will help develop and grow the industry by providing:

• Knowledge and research
• Business office space
• A place to showcase the latest developments

The institute is based in Coventry and is another example of how the area is at the heart of developing and growing new and innovative industries.
